Tie Dye! The most fun and interesting new trend on my list that has made a comeback! It first became a fashion fad in the psychedelic hippie era of the late 1960’s and 70’s - worn by major artists like Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix. Tie Dye within the psychedelic era, acted as symbols for the reordering of social, political, and artistic structures in the late 60’s and 70’s. Many designers this season featured it in their SS19 collections; each adding their own re-interpretation. My favorite take on it was that of Prada, they incorporated bright, rich blues, pinks and neons into very feminine, chic midi skirts and sheer blouses! I died and landed in fashion heaven. They even incorporated the same print in their hand bags, making it both fun and sophisticated, simultaneously. Who’s ready to relive the era of the hippies? Minus the LSD and hallucinations of course.
